DJ Paoni, president of SAP North America, has been recognized as the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the Executive of the Year – Computer Software category for the 15th Annual International Business Awards®.
The International Business Awards (IBA) are the world’s premier business awards program. Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards will be presented to winners at a gala awards banquet in London, England, on October 20.
More than 3,900 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Company of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Startup of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year, and Executive of the Year, among others.
Paoni was recognized for his reputation as a trusted advisor for customers, a respected mentor for colleagues, and a responsible steward for the next generation of employees at SAP and across North America. Beyond his impact at SAP, Paoni was recognized for his personal investment in preparing high school students for the workforce of the future with his service on the boards of non-profit organizations GENYOUth and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship.
Paoni has also helped ensure SAP North America is an employer of choice by championing diversity and inclusion initiatives to foster an innovative culture where employees can thrive, a culture that has been recognized in Fortune Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For 2018 list.
Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 270 executives worldwide who participated on 12 juries. Below are some of the comments the judges had to say about Paoni:
- “Really a remarkable achievement within an already successful company, changing cultures and fostering so many values by variety of programs — remarkable success in every aspect.”
- “DJ has done remarkable work in SAP and achieved many difficult goals in his professional career. Best of luck for your future.”
- “DJ Paoni[‘s] contribution and impact on SAP North America was clearly profound and meaningful in multiple categories, which warrants the Executive of the Year award. Especially on two fronts: diversity and inclusion as well as product success.”
“This year’s Stevie Award winners in the IBAs are the most distinguished group of winners we’ve had yet,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. “We raised the minimum average score from the judges required to qualify as a Stevie winner, so 2018 winners should be especially proud of their achievements.”
